Guidelines for the submission of abstracts

Authors wishing to present an oral presentation or poster are invited to submit an abstract of a maximum of 300 words (not including title and author names and affiliations).

  • The required format of the abstract is: Introduction – Aims – Methods – Results – Conclusions. If these headings are unsuitable for your submission, you are invited to amend these as necessary.
  • All submissions must be made in English.
  • Abstracts are not edited by the organisers and author corrections will not be accepted after the abstract deadline date. Abstracts should be checked carefully for accuracy prior to submission.
  • The body of the abstract may be a maximum of 300 words.
  • The abstract should be as informative as possible and should include an explanation as to why the paper meets the conference theme.
  • Abstracts will be peer reviewed.
  • Submission of an abstract constitutes a commitment by the presenting author to attend the conference and present the findings. If accepted, the presenting author will be required to register on a due date.
  • The reviewing committee can decide to change the presentation type of accepted abstracts (oral to poster and vice versa). If so, authors will be notified accordingly.
  • Each abstract corresponds to one registration.
Conference Theme and Topics

The 18th International Conference of Methods and Applications in Fluorescence 2024 showcasing the latest in recent advances on the following topics:

  1. Ultrafast spectroscoy, single molecule
  2. Nanophotonics and biophotonics
  3. Super-resolution, cell imaging, cell probes
  4. Upconversion emission
  5. Fluorescent proteins
  6. Fluorescent probes and sensors
  7. Photoresponsive materials
  8. Other fluorescence-related topics

Authors are entitled to choose 2 topics.

Guidelines for Presentations

Accepted contributions presented at the conference will be published in the Book of Abstracts that will be hosted in the Congress website.

All abstract presenters must register for the Congress by June,30 2024. Failure to do so will result in the abstract being withdrawn from the scientific Program and book of abstracts.

  • Contributed Oral Presentations

The best scored oral abstracts of each topic will be selected to be presented during the congress, within the corresponding symposium.
Oral Presentations will be of 10 minutes length + 5 min. of discussion.

  • Poster Presentations

All accepted posters contributions will be presented during the congress in printed format.
Posters must be displayed from Sunday September 8th, to Wednesday, September 11th.
Each author will take care of the poster printing. Details for poster printing will be sent in due time.
